Habitats

A diversity of specialized habitats contribute to the countryside mosaic of the Teverener Heide. They include wet and dry heathlands, inland dunes, moorlands, nutrient-poor lakes, and the remains of rare woodlands. More than 200 animals and plants that belong to endangered species in North-Rhine Westphalia  have found a home here. These species are real specialists that have adjusted perfectly to the countryside and its challenges.
